Mango has been certified as a Top Employer for its commitment to a people, culture, talent development and prioritising wellbeing across its workforce

Global fashion group Mango has received the Top Employer certification in recognition of its dedication to diversity, talent and inclusivity. The award is from the Top Employers Institute, a global authority that certifies organisations for HR excellence.

The company attributes the certification to ongoing work under the key pillars of its 4E Strategic Plan – Elevate, Expand, Earn and Empower – each of which put people at the heart of their operations.

Among other objectives, the plan sets out to achieve sales in excess of 4 billion euros in 2026 through operational expansion and team empowerment.

Under the strategy, the company has seen significant growth, including increasing its workforce by approximately 17% since 2023.

More than 1,100 employees were promoted over this period, including over 150 in its headquarters in Barcelona and around 950 in stores worldwide.

A culture of values

Chief People Officer of Mango, David Payeras, says the award “recognises our commitment to building an excellent, diverse and inclusive work environment where people are at the heart of our strategy.”

“At Mango, we promote talent development, wellbeing and a future-proof organisation, combining new ways of working with a global culture based on our values, always inspired by our passion for fashion and Mediterranean culture.”

Under this approach the company has transformed its workforce, particularly around diversity inclusion efforts, where it has seen female representation on the executive committee reaching 46%.

Mango also prioritises its 18,000 employees through its ‘We Care’ programme, which offers preventative policies, staff recognition schemes and initiatives dedicated to mental and physical wellbeing.

Skills for a sustainable future

Recognition of the company’s employment practices reinforce the company’s commitment to the growth trajectory set out by the 4E Strategic Plan, which blends innovation and sustainability with a commitment to enhancing the customer experience.

As part of this initiative, Mango has launched the Craft Your Future scheme. The course, developed in collaboration with the LCI Barcelona School of Design, seeks to ensure generational renewal in essential fashion trades.

To address the decline of talent in key disciplines, such as pattern making and tailoring, The Craft Your Future programme aims to train technical professionals in these essential skills to tackle those challenges facing today’s fashion industry.

David says: “Through our programme Craft Your Own Story, we empower people to develop their professional careers according to their own needs, in a world-class international environment, and by providing them with the right tools to do so.”

Excellence in inclusion

Multiculturalism is imperative in creating an inspired and future-proof workplace, and is exemplified at the company’s Barcelona Campus, which employs over 60 different nationalities – company-wide, Mango employs 160 nationalities.

Mango upholds this standard by both embedding equality and inclusion into its human resources processes and offering a wide range of volunteering opportunities and social action programmes.

Its continued success in HR has also been recognised across industries. The Financial Times named Mango among the 100 best employers to work for in Europe.

‘Being recognised among the 100 best employers in Europe fills us with pride because it reflects the direct opinion of our teams and is the result of the level of our leaders and our firm commitment to talent management.’

‘This recognition reinforces our commitment to a people-centred culture, where innovation, collaboration, and people development are part of our DNA as a company,’ says David.

People continue to be one of Mango’s core assets. Through developing internal talent in a high quality environment, the company has set the standard for human practice in the workplace.
